Joko taittuu talven selkä?

Pari viikkoa sitten aloittamani keeppi Novitan Hippy-langasta on valmis. Kaksi kerää lankaa riitti täpärästi. Rehellisyyden nimissä pitää kertoa että, viimeinen kerros on 7 veikkaa, mutta sitä ei mistään huomaa, kun värit ovat aivan samat.

I have finished the shawlette I started two weeks ago.

Täydellisen pipon etsintä on edelleen käynnissä. Malli, jonka löysin Kodin kuvalehden blogista, on patenttineuletta ja tehty kaksinkertaisella alpakkalangalla. Tupsun siirsin tyttären vanhasta
Ylläs-piposta. Toivottavasti pipokelit ovat pian ohi!

I have knitted a few hats this winter as I´m hoping to find a perfect match. This one is almost the one.  The pattern is from here

This is what´s the weather like in Vuokatti last Saturday. Have to wear a hat as it´s still winter.

Kävimme viime viikolla pikavisiitillä Vuokatissa, missä talvikelit jatkuvat.

I started to knit a knee high sock as we were driving to the north. It took eight hours from home to Vuokatti, were we stayed for three nights. Love the colour of this yarn.

I`m reading Call the midwife. A true story of th East End in the 1950s.

Aloitin myös uutta kirjaa: Jennifer Worthin Hakekaa kätilö! Olen niin alussa että en osaa sanoa pidänkö enemmän kirjasta vai tv-sarjasta. Tv-sarja on aivan ihana!

I join Yarn Along with Ginny.

Happy Easter to all of You!

Winter solstice and Merry Christmas!

22nd of December last year we had a lovely winter weather in Finland. A lot of snow, beautiful  sun shine and the temperature some degrees below -0 Celsius. This picture is taken from my garden.

And the same place one year later as it was this year 22.12.2011:

Winter solstice is the darkest day of the year, but we were lucky to see the sun for a while.  I took my dog out to the forest near our house.  We both enjoyd our exercise...

The sun is setting at 2 o´clock.
What´s  that light?

Last night we were at a concert in  Porvoo Cathedral. A group of three tenors, Tenosissimo, as they are called,  sung wonderful Christmas carols. Later I wanted to take some pictures of the cathedral, but unfortunately I broke my camera stand, and it was difficult to keep the camera still.
I love the athmosphere of the old town.

You can listen one of the songs by Tenorissimo from here.

Merry Christmas to all of you!

Hyvää joulua kaikille blogi-ystävilleni!
